Abby tries out her new Freedom Wheels modified bike for the first time. |
The FREEDOM WHEELS® customised bike program gives a new kind of
independence to children with disabilities by allowing them to ride
a bike for the first time.
For most children, their first bike ride is a rite of passage.
But for children with a disability, this can seem unachievable.
With the help of a highly skilled and innovative team of
therapists, engineers and volunteers at TAD, children with
disabilities can now enjoy mobility and a form of recreation
previously unavailable to them.
TAD creates highly
customised bikes at our popular bike clinics
where clients are examined and assessed. The bikes are then modified
to suit the particular needs of each child.
This is one of TAD's fastest growing programs and will soon be
available nationwide through TAD organisations in each state and
with the support of one of Australia's largest marketing
organisations, AMWAY
and their Independent Business Owners.
Freedom Wheels is about giving children the ability to enjoy
independence, mobility and a new found sense of pride.
If you're interested in one of these bikes, you can register for a bike clinic.
